Part 6

Final touches. This is where you will be creative and use my ideas for inspiration.

This is the final tutorial in the series of 6 and I will be showing you how to put the finishing touches to your album. You can follow what I have made, or use my ideas for inspiration and create your own unique style.

Supplies:

·      All the left over base cardstock (black) and a couple more sheets.
·      Heartfelt creations photo mat sheets from pack.
NB: you don’t need these, you can use plain card stock or patterned from your stash.
·      Scissors
·      Double sided tape or glue stick
·      Cutting tool/Ruler
·      Magnets: 10mm x ½ mm
·      Tags from the Hearfelt creations collection.
·      Rounded edge punch.

Photo mats:

Select the photo mats from the collection, you can use as many or as few as you like.

There are several of the photo mats in the collection that are too large for this current album. Set them aside for use in other projects.

Cut the backing for the mats from the base cardstock (black) and measure leaving a 1/8” trim around the mats. You can also leave the mats as they are without mounting them.
Use the rounded edge punch to round the corners. Do this to each mat before attaching to the backing.

Glueing the magnet.

On some of the pages that are in the previous tutorials, there have been magnets placed on the pages before matting. These are to hold some of the ‘free’ mats. Place a magnet in between the photo mat and the backing. Ensure that the magnet is north to south on the relevant page for the mat.

Continue making your mats and selecting the pages and pockets you want to put them into.

Making the ribbon decoration on the album cover.

The ribbons slide in between each page and are pulled bag firmly when attaching to the back cover. This gives the pages extra support as well as being very pretty.

Choose 6 lengths of ribbon in various colours. Each ribbon is of varying length.
Use double sided tape to attach the ribbon.

Mark the center of the spine approximately ½ way down.
Use double sided tape to attach the ribbons.
Cut each ribbon so that when threaded through the pages, the ends meet at this point.

Continue until each page has a ribbon threaded through it.

Take a thicker type ribbon and tie a double bow. Separate and hold with double sided tape and attach to the back of the spine.

Cut butterflies and attach. How to make these are shown in previous tutorial.
Finnish off with a glass brad.

Continue to embellish your album with the flowers, butterflies and corner pockets shown in previous tutorials, and use any embellishments that you have in your stash.

This is where you will become creative.

Here are some of the pages I’ve created using all of the techniques shown in the previous 5 tutorials.

Now you have completed your album. I hope you have enjoyed this series of tutorials and learnt lots whilst making your album
