Pockets
and tabs.
Supplies:
· Various papers
and cardstock
Tip: Use all your ‘scraps’ of
cardstock and papers from making the pages and matting.
· Scissors
· Cutting/scoring
tool
· Double sided
tape ½” and ¼”
· Liquid glue (I
use Scotch quick dry)
· Ruler
· 1 ¼” circle
punch
· Magnets 10mm x
½ mm
· Various dies. I
will name the one’s I use, but you can use whatever you have to create your
theme.
Tip:
You
can use precuts and stickers from your stash.
NB: Base mats in this album are all black to
match my album pages.
For
the purpose of this tutorial the pages are labeled 1 -14.
When
placing them in the album, you can organize them in your own order to suit your
theme.
Page 1:
Cut cardstock 5” x 4”.
Tape using ½” double sided tape on 3 edges.
Mark the centre of the top (untaped edge) and
punch ½ circle to make tab.
Adhere to the bottom of the page lining up the
pocket with the mat.
I added a
decorative border along the top. This image does not show.
Take a strip 1’ wide and measure to fit on the
flap.
Cut and use ¼” double sided tape to attach to the
flap, makes a mini pocket.
Page 2:
Photo mats
Cut 4” x 1 ¾” photo mat.
I used the heartfelt creations pre-designed mat,
you can use plain papers.
Cut base card 4 ¼’ x 2”.
Using double sided tape adhere photo mat to base
mat.
Cut 4” x 2” photo mat.
Cut base card 4 ¼” x 2 ¼”
Adhere mats to the page.
I have used 1 squared and 1 rounded.
NB: You can size your photo mat to suit your
design.
Page 3:
Cut base card 6” x 7”. Score at ½” and 6 ½”. Fold
inwards at score lines.
Run ½” double sided tape down each end and across
one side. (This will be the bottom of the pocket)
Cut patterned paper 5 ¾” x 2 ¾” and adhere to the
top of the base card.
Mark the centre point at the top of the pocket and
punch ½ circle using 1 ½” circle punch.
Adhere
pocket to the bottom of the page.
Page 4:
Using
base card cut border and corner.
I
used Sue Wilson Californian Collection.
Using
a mix of glue and tap adhere to page.
Attach
2 sides of the filigree corner die to make a pocket.
Page 5:
Cut
3’ x 3 ½” photo mat from patterned pape , round the edges and adhere directly
to the page.
Cut
3” x 1 ½” base card and score at ¼” at long edges. Fold under and use ¼” double
sided tape along 3 sides.
Cut
2’ x 1 ¼” patterned paper and mat the pocket.
Adhere
to flap 2/3rd down to make mini pocket.
I
have added some cut out notes and a phrase.

Page 6:
Cut 5 ½” x 1 ¾” base card.
Cut
5” x 1 ¼’ patterned paper and mat to base card.
Run
¼’ double sided tape around base card and adhere to the bottom of the page. Tip: You can add a photo mat to the
space on the page.
Page 7:
Cut
6” x 1 ½” base card
Cut
5 ½” x 1” patterned paper (I used HFC stamp strip) Mat to base card.
Using
½” double sided tape attach to page at the 2 ends, at the bottom of the page.
NB: I made the tabs from HFC by fussy cutting and popping brads through them.
You don’t need these if you don’t have this collection.
Page 8:
Cut a strip 5 ½” x 1” in base card
Select a border die and cut the same.
Adhere the border die to the strip so that pthe pattern is
forwards of the strip. This makes a wider border.
Run ½” double sided tape down the plain edge of thebase card.
Adhere the strip to the left side of the page. This makes a
side slot.
Page 9:
Waterfall:
Cut
base card 3 ½” x 5 ½” x 2
Score
on the 3” side at ½”
Round
the other corners.
Using
patterned or plain papers (I used HFC picture mats) Cut 3” x 4 ½” and adhere to
the top of the base card. Make sure you round the two bottom corners.
Run
½” double sided tape along the top scored edge as shown.
Fold
down the scored edge.
Attaching
the waterfall to the page:
Starting
from the top right hand side mat, line up the top of the waterfall mat and
adhere to page.
Line
up the 2nd waterfall mat to the folded edge of the 1st
waterfall mat and adhere to the page. This gives you a spacing of ½” between.
The
waterfall should look like this:
Page 10:
Cut
4 ½” x 4 ½” mat from patterned/plain paper (I’ve used HFC photo mat)
Adhere
to bottom right hand of the page.
Page 11:
Cut
3 ¾” x 4 ½” base card.
Score
at ½” at each end and fold. Run ½” double sided tape down the edge, flip and
along the bottom edge.
Cut
3 ½’ x 2 ½” plain/patterned paper and adhere to base card.
Mark
centre top and punch a half circle with 1 ¼’ punch.
Attach
pocket to flap on page 11 side.
Cut
4 ½” x 2 ½’ base card. Score at ½” each end and fold. Repeat as above pocket
Cut
3 ½” x 2 ¼” plain/patterned paper and adhere to base cards. Punch ½ circle as
above.
Adhere
to page 11.
Page 12:
Cut
strip 1 ¼” x 6” in base card
Cut
strip ¾” x 5 ½” in plain/patterned paper. (I have used HFC word strip)
Adhere
at each end centering the strip with the tab opening of the existing flap
pocket.
Pages 13 and 14:
These
are already prepared from tutorial part 2.
Now you have
completed pockets and tabs your pages you are ready for part 4 of the tutorial.
This will show you the how to embellish the pages with lot’s of photo mats and using
various dies.
