Part 4.

Embellishments.

In this tutorial I will be showing the embellishments that I have used. You have the base pages done from tutorial
part 3.
You may not have all the dies, stamps and inks etc. that I have, but you can use what you have already in your stash. These are just ideas to inspire you and can be adapted to make your own very unique album.

 Supplies:
  • ·      Various dies to suit your theme.
  • ·      Tip: Use the dies to co-ordinate with your papers and this will “create” your theme.
  • ·      Various papers and cardstock, use leftovers from tutorial 3.
  • ·      Ribbons
  • ·      Double sided tape
  • ·      Liquid glue
  • ·      Scissors.
  • ·      Stamps.
  • ·      NB: I have used stamps that co-ordinate with my dies. If you do not have any then you can crate your embellishments using dies only as I will show you.

Flowers:
I used Heartfelt Creations : HCD1 -758 from the Butterfly Medley collection.
Take the die and place it on card stock.

Ink with various colours.

Here I’ve used Memento.

Cut:

Here I’ve shown alternative inks: Tim Holz

If you don’t have lots of inks, you can use the patterned papers from your stash: Here I’ve shown plain and patterned.

.

Using flower shaping tools, shape the flowers on the back gently pressing and using a circular motion.

Turn them over and with a dot of glue on each layer, stack ontop of each other.

This creates a dimensional flower.

Make a few of these in various colours and papers.

Smaller flowers:

Using the same technique as above, make lots of smaller flowers but these only need to be layered twice.
I used Heartfelt Creations Leafy branch dies HCD1-757 and Birds and blooms stamps HCPC-3644 from the birds and blooms collection.
You can substitute what you have and stampin’ up also have a matching set. Or use pre made flowers.

You can also use chalks to colour your card stock/papers.

Borders:

I have used Martha Stewart Butterfly edge punch to make this decorative border. Make as many as you need in different coloured cardstock.
Cut to size.

Cover detail:

Another border die I used was Creative expressions Californian collection.

I ran ½” double sided tape along one edge and adhered to the page making a slot for a photo mat. Cut to size.

To make another photo mat slot I used an mpress border die and mounted it on a 1” strip.

Butterflies.
I used various Buttefly dies, Heartfelt creations Butterfly Medley HCD1-759 and 758, and matching stamps.

Cheery Lyn Exotic Butterfly DL 116

Memory Box Vivienne 98265
Memory Box Darla 98264.

Cut several butterflies deciding on what best suits the page, and size of butterfly. I have used inks to colour some and left some plain. The Darla has the backing of the Vivienne on some but not on others. I have glued some flat to the page and others created dimension by gluing the centre of the butterfly only. Here are some examples.

Filagree leaves:

I used this die from the Butterfly medley collection. There are many types on the market and it’s a really handy item to have in your stash.
Cut several.

Now you have completed embellishing your pages you are ready for part 4 of the tutorial. This will show you the how to make the cover, load the pages and complete the album.
